MILESTONES

Multiple victories in Elon Musk’s SpaceX Hyperloop Pod Competition

2016 - 2018
SpaceX and the Boring Company organized an annual Hyperloop Pod Competition sponsored by Elon Musk to design and build a subscale prototype vehicles demonstrating Hyperloop's technical feasibility. Denis Tudor (CEO) co-founded the rLoop and EPFLoop teams, winning awards for: ‍Best Design (2016), Best Innovation (2017), Best Engineering (2018), 3rd for Speed (2018‍).

World’s First Infinite Hyperloop Test Track

July 2021
Swisspod launched the world's 1st infinite Hyperloop test track at EPFL in Switzerland. The first research activity operates under Project LIMITLESS and is funded by the Swiss Innovation Agency. At this facility, Swisspod, EPFL and HEIG-VD will test and validate a novel Linear Induction Motor (LIM), a key part of Swisspod's propulsion system.

1st Vacuum Test for Medium Speeds & Long Distanced in Europe

July 2023
Swisspod and its partners from EPFL successfully performed the first Vacuum Test in Europe for a Hyperloop infrastructure for medium speeds and long distances.

1st Hyperloop Capsule Prototype

July 2023
Swisspod finalized the development of the hyperloop capsule prototype for the reduced-scale test track in Lausanne, Switzerland. Preliminary testing of the system will start soon at the infrastructure, setting the stage for the world's longest hyperloop mission.

World’s Largest Hyperloop Infrastructure

July 2025
Swisspod’s hyperloop infrastructure in Colorado, U.S. becomes the largest in the world — a 400+ meter stretch paving the way for ultra-high-speed transportation.

World Record for the Longest Hyperloop Trial

June 2024
Swisspod and its partners EPFL and HEIG-VD broke the world record for the longest hyperloop trial at the facility in Lausanne, Switzerland. They achieved the equivalent of a 141.6 km journey (11.8 km in reduced scale), about the stretch between Geneva and Bern or San Francisco and Sacramento, and top speeds of up to 488.2 km/h (40.7 km/h in reduced scale). The achievement is part of the LIMITLESS project, supported by Innosuisse.

First 100 meters of hyperloop infrastructure completed in U.S.

May 2024
Swisspod completed the first 100 meters of our hyperloop infrastructure in the United States. This site is poised to become the world's largest hub for hyperloop experimentation and the most cost-effective hyperloop system globally. Additionally, the test track will become the 2nd largest vacuum chamber in the U.S.

200 Meters of Hyperloop Infrastructure Completed in U.S.

November 2024
Swisspod unveiled the first 200 meters of its full-scale hyperloop infrastructure in Colorado, USA., an exciting milestone on the journey to revolutionize transportation. The reveal happened during the Hyperloop Day event, celebrating Swisspod's progress toward commercializing hyperloop technology.

First Hyperloop Tubes in Place in U.S.

October 2023
Swisspod laid down the first tubes of our hyperloop infrastructure in Pueblo, Colorado. This step initiates the construction of the only hyperloop hub in the world capable of hosting long-haul missions! What sets this infrastructure apart is its unparalleled innovation — fully passive, eliminating the need for electrification and magnets to propel and levitate the pod.

2nd Hyperloop Testing Facility in the U.S.

September 2021
Swisspod announced its plans for the construction of a 2nd Hyperloop testing facility at PuebloPlex, an expansive innovation hub in Pueblo, Colorado, U.S. At the facility, Swisspod will build and test a full-scale Hyperloop system.
